Major Interventions !

Running Farmers Field School

SHDA runs 3 farmers' field school in Gorakhpur & Kushinagar district. In Gorakhpur district SHDA runs 2 FFS at its own peril whereas in district Kushinagar it runs a FFS through the vigorous assistance from Department of Science & Technology under current running program on olericultural intervention. Besides, 7 FFS are being run by the organization through the assistance from Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, Mumbai. We distribute problem cards among farmers during first week and collects in 3rd week of each month. Thereafter, as per the need of the farmers FFS arranges an expert to solve their problems. Farmers and expert meet programme is held on a particular date in each month.

Farmers Library

SHDA also runs a Library which comprised of various books on production and post harvest technologies, soil fertility management, irrigation management, integrated pest management, seed production & management, Animal husbandry & oil seeds production etc.

Farmers Clubs

In association with Purvanchal Gramin Bank and NABARD, SHDA has organized three farmers club in Pipraich block of Gorakhpur District.
• SHDA Farmers club, Araji Chouri
• Adarsh farmers club, Chilbilwa
• Harit Kisan club, Rajahi

Training & Exposure

SHDA organizes training on production and post harvest management technologies for vegetable cultivation through the technical assistance of Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi, National Horticultural Research and Development Foundation and Narendra Deo University of Agriculture and Technology, Faizabad <

IEC materials

SHDA has developed a technical bulletin comprising production and Post harvest management technologies of vegetables. Apart from it, the organization has also develope/p>d leaflets on IPM, and Irrigation Management.
